| Why We Choose Magento |
|
We started working with open source shopping carts in 2006, we developed our own version of osCommerce and heavily modified it to run as an advanced online store.
As technology has improved and innovations are so fast moving in the online world, we realised that osCommerce was quickly been "left behind", although it boasts many advantages such as its easy operation and wide range of modules available, development didn’t keep up to date.
There are many versions of osCommerce re-written such as Zencart, CRE loaded, however Magento has so much more to offer and in our opinion is in a league of its own!
The quality and feel of the Magento product is instantly recognisable as a true state of the art shopping cart. It is used by many well known businesses around the world, and has had over 1.5 million downloads with over £20 Billion in transactions.
Our honest opinion of Magento is; "a powerful and professional sales tool in the right hands", when it is installed correctly on a dedicated custom built server it is an impressive package. Poorly installed versions, on incompatible or shared servers render the product unstable and slow.
